Getting Started

Welcome to the Youth Filmmakers Initiative!

This is where your journey as a filmmaker, researcher, and storyteller begins. Throughout this program, you will learn the skills needed to create powerful documentary films while exploring important stories from Black history in your community.

As you move through each lesson, you will build your knowledge of filmmaking, research techniques, interviewing, and video production. Take your time, stay curious, and remember that every great film starts with a great story. We're excited to help you discover, document, and share stories that deserve to be remembered.
